The HIV Research Group, led by Professor Philip Goulder of the Department of Paediatrics, have been awarded a multi-million pound, five year Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator award to further their work into HIV disease limitation.

The group, based in the Peter Medawar Building in Oxford, are working with clinic staff in Kimberly and Durban, (above), to investigate mechanisms of HIV disease limitation within the South African population.

These prestigious awards provide long-term stable funding for scientists with an excellent track record in their research field, and offer the flexibility and time to enable them to tackle the most important questions in their field.

Full details of the funding are available on the Wellcome Trust website.
