Simon Marchant

DPhil student

Simon started his DPhil in the paediatric neuroimaging group in 2020, where he investigates physiological signs of pain and physiological instability in neonates.

Previously he worked as a clinical scientist in the NHS, providing combined technical and clinical support to neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation units. He completed an integrated Masters (MEng) in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Sheffield and a Masters (MSc) in Clinical Science at King's College London. He is a Chartered Engineer and a registered Clinical Scientist in the UK.

He is a member of Linacre College, and is funded by EPSRC through the Sustainable Approaches to Biomedical Science Centre for Doctoral Training. He is also part-funded by a collaboration with Reckitt Benckiser (RB).
