We report the case of a 12-year-old girl who presented with continuous vomiting and abdominal pain in a febrile setting despite adequate symptomatic treatment. The blood tests show progressive acute renal failure, thrombocytopenia and mild hyponatremia; for this reason a transfer in a pediatric intensive care was performed. Renal function quickly normalized without the need for extra-renal filtration. Thrombocytopenia corrected spontaneously. Comprehensive infectious investigations showed the presence of recent immunization against hantavirus.
