BIO

Thiruni obtained her BSc in Biological Sciences from Eastern Illinois University, USA and MPhil in Immunology from University of Sri Jaywaradenepura, Sri Lanka. She completed her PhD in University of New South Wales, Australia in 2023 which focused on studying pathogenic T cells in autoimmunity and infectious diseases at the single cell level. Her area of research interest is in single cell sequencing including multi-modal omics. 

Thiruni is now a postdoctoral scientist with the Philip Goulder's group with an interest in studying T cells, more specifically non-conventional T cells in early life.
