Oxford Against Sexual Violence is the University’s campaign against sexual harassment and violence. It states categorically that sexual harassment and violence at Oxford is never acceptable. Central to the campaign is the Sexual Harassment and Violence Support Service, which is jointly funded by the University and colleges, providing free support and advice to any student who has been affected by sexual harassment or violence, domestic or relationship abuse, coercive control and stalking, at any time. If you have been affected by sexual harassment or violence in any form, the support service is safe place to be heard. All students are strongly encouraged to take the Consent for Students online programme which can be accessed via the link below.

New charter to support the career development of researchers |
A new Charter to support the Career Development of Researchers has been launched. The concise document lists the University’s commitments to support researchers’ career development and shows how we value them as individuals. It also outlines the responsibilities of researchers and their PIs/line managers when it comes to fostering a world-leading research culture, which is vital for producing world-leading research.
The Charter was developed in collaboration with colleagues across divisions and central University to replace the Code of Practice for Researchers and fulfil our commitments to the national Researcher Development Concordat and our own Concordat Action Plan 2022-2025. For the Charter and professional development inspiration, head to the Research Hub pages via the link below, or contact: researcherhub@admin.ox.ac.uk.

Open Access Publication - Rights Retention |
The University of Oxford Open Access Publications Policy, and University Statute XVI which covers intellectual property rights, have now been updated to incorporate rights retention. Rights retention allows authors to retain the rights to their work, rather than signing these over to a publisher. From 14 October 2024, by virtue of their employment and without requiring any action on their part, employees at the University provide the rights to make author accepted manuscript versions of their articles and conference proceedings available under a Creative Commons Attribution Licence (CC BY 4.0) at the point of publication.
