Mari Johnson

DPhil Student

Mari graduated with a BSc in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of Bristol, with a focus on immunology and infectious disease. In 2017 she started the Wellcome Trust DPhil programme in Infection, Immunology and Translational Medicine. Her first year rotations included a structural biology project with Prof. Matt Higgins in Biochemistry, followed by researching broad spectrum antivirals for Zika and Dengue Virus with Prof. Nicole Zitzmann.

Mari's final rotation project was at the Oxford Vaccine Group, which she liked so much that she's decided to stay for another 3 whole years. Her PhD is currently supervised between Prof. Andrew Pollard and Dr Jennifer Hill. She is focused on developing systems serology methods to understand and predict vaccine responses in clinical trials.
