Hector Barbosa

Hector holds a 5 year undergraduate degree with a major in biology from the Javeriana University in Bogota - Colombia and a 2 year MPhil in Molecular Biology from the Friedrich Schiller Universität Jena - Germany. During the first year of his master, Hector worked under the supervision of Professor Aria Baniahmad in the Institute of Human Genetics at the Universitätsklinikum in Jena. Later, Hector joined the Fulga lab in the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Oxford, where he worked towards the development of a technology to fine tune target genes through miRNAs, during the second year of his MPhil program. Subsequently, he joined the Hollander lab in the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine where he is currently working towards dissecting the role of KDM2B protein on patients with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disorders.
