Humoral immune responses to infection and vaccination

I completed my medical degree at Oxford University in 2014 where I intercalated in Infection and Immunity. I then undertook foundation training as a junior doctor in the London South Thames Deanery in an Academic Foundation post. After foundation training, I moved to Edinburgh to join a Wellcome Trust PhD programme in Hosts Pathogens and Global Health where my PhD focused on a family of Plasmodium falciparum virulence factors, and antibody responses in malaria endemic populations to this protein family. This gave me a keen interest in both host-pathogen interactions and humoral immune responses. I joined the Oxford Vaccine Group in 2021 as a postdoctoral researcher, working within the enteric team to deliver a clinical trial assessing the efficacy of a vaccine for Salmonella Paratyphi A. My current role within OVG focuses on proteomics and B-cell repertoire sequencing approaches to identify antigen specific antibodies.
