\n \n \n \nA pioneering study into human immunity is being launched today by Oxford Vaccine Group at the University of Oxford. The study, called LEGACY03, is being funded by the Medical Research Council part of UK Research and Innovation. By investigating how lymph nodes work, and how they make responses to vaccines in younger and older people, it has the potential to improve vaccine design for different age groups significantly.

\n \n \n \nThe University of Oxford and Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio announced the launch of the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre Therapeutics Accelerator with an official signing event at the University of Oxford. The event was hosted by the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre (OHC), a partnership established in 2019 between the University of Oxford and Harrington Discovery Institute. Attendance at the signing included leaders from OHC, the University of Oxford, the Harrington family, University Hospitals, and Oxford Science Enterprises.

\n \n \n \nA University of Oxford study has administered a new vaccine against tick-borne virus Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) to human volunteers for the first time. The clinical trial of the ChAdOx2 CCHF vaccine aims to confirm its safety and understand how individuals develop immunity following vaccination.

\n \n \n \nWe regret to announce the passing of Professor Dominic Kwiatkowski, Professor of Tropical Paediatrics at the Nuffield Department of Medicine and former researcher at the Department of Paediatrics, who dedicated his life to the study of malaria. Prof Kwiatkowski passed away in April 2023 at the age of 69.
