Programme Manager, Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease
The Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre was launched in 2019 as a partnership between the Harrington Discovery Institute and the University. The OHRDC aims to address the vast unmet need in treatment options for the 350 million people worldwide who suffer from a rare disease, of whom half are children. The Centre is directed by Oxford’s Matthew Wood and Mukesh Jain at our partner institution in the US. It consolidates the rare disease research that occurs across almost every department of the Medical Sciences Division.
I lead the administration and management of the Centre and the implementation of its aims. I am responsible for raising translational research funding across the range of funders and manage communications for the Centre.
I am a biochemist and moved into research management from the University’s Department of Biochemistry, where I researched post-translational protein modifications, alongside various college teaching roles.
